[vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][vc_column_text] A £4million project to improve the standard of care for disabled people across Wales was launched on April 1st. The ‘Enable – Support for Independent Living’ fund will mean that small adaptions to houses such as stair lifts or ramps can be carried out within seven days of an application being made by an OT. Where a patient is being discharged from hospital, the aim is to make the required changes on the same day, making the transition as easy as possible. The money will also fund larger adaptions to homes such as structural changes. As the initiative’s name suggests, the aim is to enable patients to continue living in their own properties, while also standardising the level of care across the country. The initiative was designed with help from the College of Occupational Therapists. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
