It’s certainly starting to feel like Christmas up here in the Welsh valleys – we’ve had some glorious frosty mornings (in between the rainy days) and we’ve been seeing a fair few reindeer around the factory (although we must admit these are mostly on Christmas jumpers).
This is also a good time of year to reflect, and we’ve been looking back on another great year at Recliners. We’ve seen the company grow again, have established some exciting partnerships and collaborations, and of course, continued to serve you as best we can, innovating and building some of the best healthcare chairs on the market. Below are a few of our favourite bits from this year.
We hope that you can look back on a great year too, and that your Christmas celebrations and preparations have gone well. It just remains for us to wish you the happiest of Christmases, and a fantastic New Year. See you in 2020!

2019 – A great year for Recliners
Collaborations
We’ve been lucky enough to work with some great people this year, and some our conversations and collaborations have turned into official partnerships. The first was our partnership with Stuart Barrow of Promoting Independence. A highly respected occupational therapist, Stuart will provide expert clinical advice to help us develop a new range of chairs in 2020. Watch this space!
As if that wasn’t enough, we also teamed up with the Assistive Technology Innovation Centre at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Utilising their knowledge of 3D CAD modelling, we created an interactive, virtual reality model of our most popular chair, the Multi-Care Plus. You can have a play here.
Finally, back in February we teamed up with the guys at TSW, getting them in to deliver a 12-month training programme for our staff. We believe strongly in investing in people, and it has been a fantastic year’s learning with the TSW team.
Shows
As always, we have loved the shows we have attended this year, and as always the response to our chairs has been fantastic, with some great comments, feedback and ideas from the OTs and retailers we have spoken to.
Other
Back in March, we conducted a Review Day of our chairs, helping us refine our ideas for future designs. The event was featured in Thiis Magazine.
And finally, we were proud to bring a smile to the face of one very loyal Scottish football fan, as we upholstered his bespoke Recliners chair in the colours of his beloved Motherwell FC.
